First check if you have the new version of the app. To know which is the new version, visit our download page. We are working hard to improve the stability of the app, so a bug you found, it could have been resolved in the current version.



Note to users of Mac App Store: you don't have the need to download the app from our website. You can check the availability of a new version in the Mac App Store.



If you have the last version, maybe something is got corrupted or is misconfigured. Please try the following:


A. If the problem afflicts all databases restore app defaults:

1. Quit iDatabase if it's running. Be sure to be in the Finder (there must be written "Finder" next to the apple icon in the menu bar).


2. Show the Library folder.


    In OS X El Capitan 10.11 or earlier:

    Pull down the “Go” menu and hold down the alt/option key. Choose “Library” from the drop down list.


    In macOS Sierra 10.12 or later:

    Pull down the “Go” menu and hold down the Shift key. Choose “Library” from the drop down list.


3. When you are inside the folder Library, delete this file if it is present:

Containers / com.apimac.iDatabaseMac / Data / Library / Preferences / com.apimac.iDatabaseMac.plist


4. Launch the app and wait until it recreates the necessary resources, it might take some time.

5. You're done.




B. If the problem afflicts a specific database restore database defaults:

1. Go in the Databases view.

2. Control-click on database icon.

3. Choose “Reset to Defaults” item.

4. Check the options and click “OK”.

5. You're done.
